i’ve been working on a little zine of black & white and color drawings, hand drawn type, maybe some photos, and other fun stuff.  here’s a couple little things to keep the blog fresh.

Here’s three illustrations for this weeks SFweekly for an article about young illegal kids being tricked, baited, and/or snatched up under very shady circumstances and put into police custody where they are then deported back to Central or South America.  The FBI got involved when they caught wind of this and it’s been a major political issue in SF lately.  Really intense stuff.  I’m glad that I got the opportunity to apply my work to this serious subject matter.

Also, my buddy Justin Page has left the Art Director position there, so I worked with the very cool Darrick Rainey over at the LAWeekly on this project while he fills in.  Sorry to see you go Justin!

the little jam comic was done by drew beckmeyer, jackson beydha, and myself.  i did the first and last panels, drew did the second and jackson did the third.

my mind’s been on bikes lately since I’m well enough to be riding mine again finally.

I’m no longer in the hospital.  Time will tell if I need to go back in, since that surgery got a postponement.  It all depends on how well my “giant” pancreatic  pseudocyst handles being back in the world.  There’s a small chance it might resolve itself.

On other news, while I was in the Hospital I was in a show at the Riverside Art Museum with Sammy Harkham,  Travis Millard, Rusty Jordan, Souther Salazar, Taylor McKimens, Mark Todd, Esther Pearl Watson, Megan Whitmarsh, and many more.  The above image is one of the paintings I did for that show.  In total I had 15 pieces in the show, including a hand full of comic pages.

Also, while I was in the hospital, my buddy Jason Redwood and I were featured in Juxtapoz.  Below are some scans of those pages, so’s you can read em fer yerself, and a small spot I did for SFWeekly while I was still ill…

My dear dear friend and super tallented artist and musician Daniel (Danny to me) E Gibson has finally started up a blog to share his gifts with the rest of us.  Hells yea!

Also, it looks like I might becoming out of the hospital and getting back to my family and work.  We’re talking days now hopefully!

I’d like to apologize for not having posted in so long because I’ve been really busy, or lazy, or for any other reason than the real one.  The real one being that I’ve been stuck in the hospital for 2 months laying in bed barely able to think.  About 2 months ago I got my gullbladder out, and since have been dealing with an insanely painful reoccurring case of panciatitis and some super serious complications that have come frome that.

The good news is I’m having surgery soon,  and it should put an end to all this.  I promise to post more when there’s news.
